The Battle Line, 2023
Woodcut prints on canvas, rope, 132 x 226 cm, 132 x 223 cm, 132 x 2920 mm.
The Battle Line is a long-format textile-panel installation, hand-stitched from multiple woodcut prints on canvas. Drawing on the visual language of ancient Greek amphoras, it uses repetition—both visual and material—as a tether, binding the figures’ physical presence to the labor of their creation. At its centre lies an stationary rope structure, itself composed of a multitude of threads. Twisting over and under and over, each thread and every repetition adds to its strength.
